She has shown that successors can keep traditional companies up to date without losing sight of their roots.” The “Entrepreneur of the Year” award is presented by the Working Group of Independent Entrepreneurs (ASU) and the National Organisation of Young Entrepreneurs (BJU), Hamburg section. At the awards ceremony in Hamburg, Kim-Eva thanked her father, the company staff and, above all, the customers. “It makes me proud to have successfully led this 128-year-old family company into the fourth generation,” she stated. Wempe employs a total of 460 people and runs 25 branches, five of which are situated in the world’s most important cities.
