Catherine Plouchard, creative director of Wempe's workshop, used the poem line "La Terre est bleue comme une orange" ("The Earth is Blue like an Orange") as inspiration for the new haute couture model Blu. "Blue, bleu, blau, blu is the colour of our home as seen in space. The earth is not a mathematical sphere, but oblate at the poles-like an orange. Nothing in our world is fully geometric. The surface feel of BY KIM jewellery is meant to adhere to the human desire for simple and anatomic shapes."

The goldsmiths spend twenty-five working hours alone connecting the finely composed link elements.
